Unless you’ve been living in a cave for the past ten years you’ve seen a segment of the life insurance industry grow by leaps and bounds. This area has to do with direct marketers who sell primarily over the web.
Last week, LIDMA (Life Insurance Direct Marketing Association) kicked off their 14th annual conference in McLean, Virginia. Over the years, we’ve seen this organization grow from a small group to what’s now arguably one of the strongest voices in the industry, having a direct impact on the decisions insurance carriers are making towards product and technology.
IFS was proud to be a sponsor this year and participate on stage with industry legends like Pat Wedeking at InsureNow Direct, Keli Seder at Mutual of Omaha, and Jennifer Youngs at AGIA Affinity, where collectively we covered a variety of technologies that have changed the face of selling and managing life insurance today.
Two technologies discussed were electronic signature and eDelivery. Just five years ago, eSignature only had 8% adoption, whereas today, about 68% of insurance organizations are utilizing it. For eDelivery, adoption has grown to about 50% from 5% five years ago. By 2019, we expect to see both those number in the 80% range. We’re excited to be a part of the revolution with the launch of expedite, our eDelivery platform.
Kudos to Shervin Eftekhari and team for such a great event. It was informative, educational, and provided tremendous networking opportunities… not to mention time to catch up with old friends and make some new ones.
Keep up the good work! We are already looking forward to next year. If you’re not familiar with LIDMA check them out at www.lidma.org
