Several members of the IFS team had the pleasure of participating in Pershing’s INSITE 2019 last week in Phoenix. The conference featured 36 breakout sessions, 4 professional development workshops, 48 showcase stage presentations, a booming exhibit hall and a wealth of “inspiration, learning and networking.” Our CEO Tim Parsons and Managing Director of Product Strategy Ray Mulligan, along with Account Director Shaun Christensen, braved the desert to attend the financial advice community’s leading conference. As scorching as the weather was, we also got to take part in showing off some sizzling technology and participate in hot conversations around digital transformation, client onboarding and so much more. Here are our top takeaways from INSITE 2019:
The Future Is Now
At the event, Pershing unveiled a series of forthcoming strategic initiatives that were also announced in a press release later in the week. From our booth location, we had a front-row seat to the stage where Pershing executives announced their roadmap plans. Some of the initiatives announced around client onboarding included multiple account opening capabilities, integration with managed accounts platforms including Pershing’s Lockwood and Envestnet, and dynamic forms that streamline and tidy up the process for clients. We agree that these are great features for onboarding; in fact, we already offer them! With our booth located just off the showcase stage, we were able to demonstrate these features in our platform for many folks as they left the presentations. Over and over again, we heard comments like “wow, the future of client onboarding is already here!”
Onboarding is Anything But Boring
As an onboarding provider, we were particularly eager about the session with representatives from Pershing, BBVA Securities, SIGNiX and Advisor Group, “A Powerful Beginning: How to Reimagine the Client Onboarding Experience.” The session did not disappoint and reaffirmed the premise that IFS was founded on: onboarding doesn’t have to be boring. We were proud to see our client Advisor Group on stage and Matt Schlueter did a fantastic job sharing his firm’s insights and experiences. We are truly honored to be a part of the onboarding transformation story for our industry.
The Integration Advisory Council Will Reimagine Integration In the Industry
Speaking of an honor, it truly was one to sit on the newly formed Integration Advisory Council, which is comprised of “14 strategic third-party partners to build relationships and collaborate more closely on integration opportunities,” according to Pershing’s press release. IFS is excited to be one of the 14 firms included and we look forward to working closely with Pershing and the other member firms in the coming months as we reimagine integration capabilities and standards together.
Our Clients Continue to Innovate
Like any good industry event, INSITE offered a healthy dose of social functions and networking opportunities. We enjoyed time with our Pershing clients, Ladenburg Thalmann, Advisor Group, Cetera and CUNA, as well as the opportunity to connect more with Pershing staff. We left the conference feeling inspired and reinvigorated to continue blazing the trail of digital transformation.
Kudos to Pershing on a fantastic event! We will definitely be in Chicago next June!
